Last Week: 3-2
Season Record: 24-17 (58.5%)
Both those overs hit. Of course they did. And LSU moved to 5-0 on unders. LSU’s QB situation is a damn bank. However we only went 3-2 so room to improve. This week’s slate is loaded, big week ahead.
- Baylor -3 @ Texas
Baylor’s last 3 weeks: Bye, Kansas, Bye. This is the most well rested team in the country. They lost to Texas last year, so there is no way they look past them. And they are just better than them, top to bottom. And they are giving a mere 3 points? Baylor by 2 scores.
- Ohio State -27 Northwestern
OSU after losing last year: 42-13 @ Michigan
OSU after losing in 2014 to VT: 66-0 vs. Kent State
OSU after losing in 2016 to Penn State: gonna be more than 28 points.
Northwestern has looked awesome these past few weeks, but its been a story of an improved offense not a capable defense. The Buckeyes are going to shred Northwestern’s defense and win this one 52-21.
- Michigan -23.5 @ Michigan State
*2 unit play*
Michigan is out for blood. This game combines the revenge factor with the hated rival factor with the in state recruiting supremacy factor, basically everything lines up for Michigan to run the score up on the Spartans and win this one by 40. Michigan is going to roll
- Wyoming +13.5 Boise State
Wyoming is 5-2 and played Nebraska close in Lincoln for 3 quarters. This is a solid team. Boise State has been playing with fire at home these past two weeks, nearly losing twice. This team is asking to get beat. I’m not sure Wyoming gets the outright W but I love them catching 13.5
- Navy @ South Florida OVER 63
South Florida can’t stop the run. This doesn’t bode well for them against Navy. Navy plays solid fundamental defense but doesn’t have the elite athletes to keep up with South Florida’s attack, led by Quinton Flowers, Marlon Mack and Rodney Adams. This total is going to end up closer to 83 than 63.
EXTRA PICK: Texas Tech @ TCU OVER 84.5
TCU can’t stop the pass. At all. So Texas Tech is a lock for 50. Texas Tech couldn’t keep Purdue under 40 right now. Easy over.
Clemson Florida State Thoughts
This is the premier showdown of the week, and I feel like everyone and their brother is coming in saying to be on FSU +4.5. I’m not seeing it though. There is this prevailing though that Clemson has underwhelmed this year, but I think that’s kinda baloney. For example, that week 1 win over Auburn was wildly considered underwhelming week 1, but look at Auburn now. That’s a pretty solid win. Then they underperformed vs. Troy at home, because they looked past them. That says nothing to me. Then they played awful 2nd half football looking ahead to the bye week vs. NC State. When it mattered they still beat Louisville in a top 5 showdown as home dogs. This team is still really good. Now, I can still see FSU taking this game, I have voiced how highly I think of them all year, so I’m not betting either way. I just wanted to hopefully slow the roll on FSU +4.5.
