I was talking with a buddy about hockey earlier today. We were talking about this and that, and naturally, we began to talk about some of the nastiest goals we have seen.
Such as this one:
What a prophetic call that was.
Anyway, I had brought up Rick Nash scoring a beautiful goal against the Coyotes. In a hell of a coincidence, it is the nine-year anniversary of this series of dangles.
9 years ago today…

This makes me feel really old. I remember seeing that goal the next morning. You guessed right: I was not all that into the 2007-08 Phoenix Coyotes and their late start times. To pull off a goal like that in that juncture of the game is just pure insanity. It really is. He got his team two points in the final seconds dangling a few of those guys into submission. A truly amazing goal.
Here we are in 2017, and Columbus plays in the East, the ‘Yotes are now the Arizona Coyotes, and Rick Nash hasn’t come close to anything that special in a long time as a member of the Rangers.
But hey, what a f—ing goal.
