Yankees Get Touch of Gray at Deadline

The Yankees have made their blockbuster move at the trade deadline. With Michael Pineda going down for the season and Masahiro Tanaka’s struggles, it was inevitable that the surging-again Yankees were going to make a starting move for pitching. Source: Gray to Yankees done. Fowler, Mateo, Kaprelian coming back. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) July 31, 2017 Sonny Gray is a great gamble for New York. Although losing Jorge Mateo stings, the Yankees held onto their top-five prospects in the system, which includes Clint Frazier and Gleyber Torres. Blackhawks To Play On National TV 17 Times This Year

The #Blackhawks will play on national TV a league-high 17 times next season. — Eric Lear (@BHTVeric) July 31, 2017 Aaaaaaand the rich get richer. Seriously, it’s pretty incredible how hard the NHL has shoved the Chicago Blackhawks down everyone’s throats. I, for one, am indifferent to this. It’s nice to have Doc Emrick call a Hawks game many times a year, but you can’t go wrong with Pat Foley either. Book It: The Chicago Bears Will Make The Playoffs (Probably Not)

I know that no one in their rational mind would ever spew these words out of their mouths, but just try to hear me out here. While I am firmly on the train of thought that the Bears are going to be a perennial shitstorm for years to come and think we should shift the culture to a more Buffalo Bills-esque team where we stink but go mental-institution type bananas tailgating, as a Bears fan I am still obligated to have a sliver of hope about the upcoming season, and here is that hope: Jordan Howard Taking Ezekiel Elliot...

Is Kyle Schwarber Back?

The Cubs young slugger Kyle Schwarber has been mashing the ball ever since his demoralizing trip down to Triple A Iowa. In lieu of Schwarber’s success at the plate, the Cubs have been killing it as well. They are 11-2 since the All Star Break, catapulting into first place in the NL Central. Schwarber is batting .280 since his return. Sure it’s not THAT high, but considering he was batting only around a buck seventy five beforehand, it’s an improvement. Kyle Schwarber in 15 games since returning from Iowa (57 PA):.280/.368/.680, 5 HR, 8 RBI #Cubs — Christopher Kamka...
