NFL DraftKings Week 6 Lineup3 min read
Last week’s NFL Week 5 DraftKings Lineup didn’t quite find the money, making that two winless weeks in a row. Fading Aaron Rodgers and co. didn’t work at all, Jay Cutler did find Jarvis Landry for a TD but was overall miserable, and Zeke and Tate were not worth the money. Did absolutely nail the Antonio Brown pick though, as he went off and was owned at a record low 12%. We are still way up on the year after Week 3’s jackpot, but none the less I’m sick of not cashing. Time to get back in the green.
QB- Tom Brady (8,300)
I’ve been fading QB most of the year, but not anymore. Week 6 marks the end of that game, as we are paying way up for TB12 off a long week vs. the Jets with the division up for grabs. The Jets have won 3 in a row, which is fun, but here’s the QB’s they took down: Jay Cutler, Blake Bortles, DeShone Kizer. Now rolls in a rested Tom Brady with a plethora of weapons ready to make a statement. Brady is going to be worth the premium price tag this week and lead all players in scoring.
RB- Melvin Gordon (7,800)
Melvin Gordon+Heavy Volume+Meh Rush D (Giants)= Chargers Win+Huge Game for Melvin. Look for that same script here in week 6 against the Raiders Defense that just got gashed at home by Buck Allen and Alex Collins. Melvin is priced as the RB4 this week but is personally my RB2.
RB- Chris Thompson (5,000)
Chris Thompson paid us out in Week 3, and then disappeared in Week 4. Were coming back to the well. With a bye week to prep I like the Redskins to draw up some plays specially for the diminutive Thompson and he’ll go for 100 total yards and a score this week. Speed Kills.
WR- Martavis Bryant (4,700)
Speaking of Speed Kills. Bryant has struggled as you might except with how shitty Big Ben has been, but I’m not writing him off. The Chiefs secondary is Swiss cheese, and NOBODY is going to be on Bryant, the Steelers WR2 behind Antonio Brown, on the road, with how bad Big Ben has been. Thats why were sneaking in. Bryant has big play ability, a favorable matchup, and is bound to be low owned. I am taking the risk, it is a GPP after-all. (Come back for this same analysis on Amari Cooper).
WR- Brandin Cooks (7,600)
Tom Brady stack. I am paying the big bucks for Brady’s best HEALTHY target and watching them bring in the points. 100 yards and a score for Cooks this week.
WR- Amari Cooper (5,000)
Amari Cooper has been terrible so far: Check
Has a horrible Quarterback prepared to start Week 6: Check
Faces a sneaky favorable matchup: Check
Is priced incredibly low for his talent: Check
Can get you 60 yards and a score in one play: Check
Martavis Bryant, except $300 more expensive and a bigger name. Amari and Martavis are going to sink or swim this lineup, and I am here for it. Prospect Theory like you read about with these two. (I figured they are good insulation for the safe, likely high owned combination of Brady-Cooks)
TE- Austin Hooper (3,500)
This was how much money I had left for TE. I can sit here and act like I love Austin Hooper but he just frankly fit the lineup. He has the talent though and plays in a great offense so it’s not a terrible pickup.
FLEX- Alvin Kamara (4,500)
AP is gone. Do you think the Saints did this because they suddenly trust Mark Ingram more? Dude has been in this offense forever, and they knew exactly what they had in him before the season. A.P getting traded is a clear indication that this team trust and loves their new shinny toy, RB Alvin Kamara. Coming off the bye week vs. the Lions at home he’s going to be schemed into this gameplay heavily. My favorite play of the week.
D/ST- Jalen Ramsey… I mean Jaguars D/ST (3,600)
Jalen Ramsey. Enough said.
