It looks like the Seahawks are going to be without star cornerback Richard Sherman for the rest of the year after he ruptured his Achilles last night against the Arizona Cardinals. Sherman apparently has been playing through an achilles injury since October , with last night’s injury being “almost inevitable” according to Sherman. The Seahawks now only have 2 cornerbacks on their active roster, veteran Jeremy Lane and rookie Neiko Thorpe.
The Seahawks are now SUPER thin at the DB position, I can’t imagine how they would’ve handled this if they ended up giving Lane away to the Texans during the Duane Brown trade. Apparently they are looking to pick up Byron Maxwell, a former Seahawk who was recently cut by the Dolphins. Sherman was having a sneaky good year, and with the Seahawks sitting at 6-3, they are going to need all the help they can get to continue making a run towards the playoffs.
