Storylines To Power You Through The Second Half Of The NHL Offseason

Yep. When I came to this realization this morning, I too, thought that there was no way we’ve gone this long without hockey and we’re still only halfway there. The first half of the offseason had it’s moments for sure, but free agency was very lackluster, generally speaking, and the offseason as a whole just hasn’t been as eventful as we’d hoped. However there are a handful of things that should keep you entertained just enough to make it to the regular season. First of all, quite possibly the biggest name that was thrown in the hat in trade...

Remember The Kid From The Bruins Shootout Challenge? He’s A Top Prospect Now

If you don’t know/don’t remember what I’m walking about, here it is: This is a 9-year-old Oliver Wahlstrom at a Bruins intermission shootout contest. He's now a top 2018 NHL Draft prospect 😱👌 pic.twitter.com/hcBzgjk39y — Gino Hard (@Ginohard_) August 2, 2017 I can remember this highlight being shown on ESPN years ago, 2009 to be exact, and thinking that theres no way this kid won’t go pro. A god damn 9 year old just does The Michigan in front of thousands of people during the intermission of a Bruins game and throws one past a clueless goalie. Speaking of...

Blackhawks To Play On National TV 17 Times This Year

The #Blackhawks will play on national TV a league-high 17 times next season. pic.twitter.com/TOShEzSd2E — Eric Lear (@BHTVeric) July 31, 2017 Aaaaaaand the rich get richer. Seriously, it’s pretty incredible how hard the NHL has shoved the Chicago Blackhawks down everyone’s throats. I, for one, am indifferent to this. It’s nice to have Doc Emrick call a Hawks game many times a year, but you can’t go wrong with Pat Foley either. Also, the fact that the Hawks have Eddie Olczyk on their local broadcast is an awesome luxury to have. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like you’re...

Zion Williamson and Lamelo Ball Just Played The Worst Basketball Game Ever

For a while now, I’ve been seeing NBA players come out and criticize AAU and complain about how terrible it is for basketball. I never really thought much of it because AAU basketball gave me hours of entertainment during class in high school in the form of HoopMixtapes. After watching a game in it’s entirety (only the 1st half), I could not agree more with what these guys are saying. First of all, the sheer number of people that were so interested to the point they wanted to go to this game, was insane. Main gym at @adidasUprising 70...

Nolan Arenado Had An Unbelievable Game Yesterday And It Wasn’t Even Televised

Generally speaking, the MLB does a TERRIBLE job of marketing their best players. At least from what I’ve seen. You have possibly 2 of the best players ever playing in their primes right now in Clayton Kershaw and Mike Trout and you barely see either of them when their not playing. Mike Trout had a Subway gig a couple of years ago but other than that, zilch. In such a market as LA you’d think maybe the MLB could capitalize on having two incredible players, but I think that’s a conversation for another day. Anyways, Nolan Arenado had an...
