Tim Tebow's Baseball Workout Reminiscent of Football

A little late to the party but late is better than never right? Tim Tebow had his “showcase” for almost the entire MLB the yesterday and it ranged from shockingly good to as bad as people expected. First off, who the hell decided that baseball players “showcase” their talents, what the hell is this the Price Is Right or a goddamn beauty pageant? Come on. Second, this is such an “uhhhh ya think” moment it’s unreal, of course he sucked! He’s 29 years old and has been training to be a football player for pretty much his entire adult...

Week 1 College Football Picks

Week 1 College Football Picks Every week I’m going to give you guys my favorite 5 picks for the upcoming college football slate. Without further ado Texas A&M -3 UCLA UCLA rolls into this game a 3-point underdog despite having possibly the best QB in the nation in Josh Rosen, and that alone should peak your interest. I love the Aggies in this one for a very simple reason, pressure. UCLA is going to be breaking in 3 new OL starters on the road in a hostile environment, which in itself is enough of a problem, but then...

Let Me B-Frank Podcast: August 31

In this week’s episode, Brian, Pete and John take on the touchy subjects in recent news, including Colin Kaepernick sitting for the National Anthem, the murder of Nykea Aldridge, and the University of Chicago’s ban on safe spaces. For the Top 5 segment, the guys list their favorite sports movies of all time and Pete suggests a more realistic remake of Air Bud. To top it all off, Brian and Pete get into a heated argument regarding the conspiracy theory whether Stevie Wonder is actually blind. Disagree with us? Leave your comments and feedback in the section below. We always love to hear from...

Fewer K's = More Fans (A Response to Steve)

Last week, our terrific baseball analyst and statistics guru Steven Campbell penned a piece on how the increased number of strikeouts in today’s game benefits baseball overall. I strongly encourage you to read his piece here, as I relay my argument for why baseball needs to keep the K’s to a minimum. More Balls in Play Creates Better Action Yes, Kerry Wood’s 20-strikeout game was pretty cool. Even the dominance of a 10-K night for an ace like Jose Fernandez or Clayton Kershaw is fun to watch…but only for a more serious fan of baseball. For the casual follower...

Sports Media’s Undeniable Love for Chicago

Photo Courtesy of MLB/Chicago Cubs Media Why Anthony Rizzo or Kris Bryant Will Win NL MVP As if the absurd amount of Blackhawks games on national TV wasn’t already enough of an indicator, sports media really put its cards on the table with last year’s NL Cy Young award. If you’ve ever heard me speak in person about the Cubs, you know I loved every moment of Jake Arrieta’s dominance at the end of 2015. Jake definitely deserved recognition for his incredible year, but he was NOT the best pitcher in the National League in 2015 by any stretch...

The Off-season: Shaw Trade, Fan Favorites, and Baggage

The Hawks bade farewell to a few hometown favorites in Andrew Shaw and Teuvo Teravainen this off-season. Bryan Bickell was another Hawk who would be leaving the team which I think came a little late. I loved Bickell in the ‘13 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but after that season he stopped doing his job as a big power forward and seemed to just stand in the way rather than have a real presence. Shaw, known for chirping at and irritating opposing players while offering up some big hits, was traded to Montreal in exchange for two second-round draft picks in the 2016 NHL Draft....

THE RETURN: Kwame Brown Edition

This past Monday, former #1 pick Kwame Brown signed with a new agency, InterPerformance, and announced that he would be attempting an NBA comeback. The irony of his announcement being released as First Take is coming back on the air is just uncanny, but nonetheless, I’m rooting for a successful return for Kwame “human garbage” Brown. It seems like he’s been around forever, but the guy is still only 34, and his new agency says that he can “explode in devastating dunks”. To remind readers, I compiled a few videos that I thought summed up his body of work quite nicely. “This man...
