LeBron and the entire population of Ohio should be thanking the Monsters for winning the Calder Cup and finally giving the city a championship in sports that has so eluded them for so long. Breaking the curse that the supposed “King” could not. The Monsters defeated Hershey 1-0 in OT at a sold out Quicken Loans Arena to complete the sweep and win the Calder Cup. Now, the owner of the Monsters is none other than Dan Gilbert…hmm. The man who guaranteed Cleveland that they would win a title before LeBron did in Miami. While he may have been wrong, he was kind of correct in that he brought a championship to Cleveland before LeBron did. So hats off to you, Dan! You are truly Ohio’s favorite man.
