Week 7 College Football Picks
Last Week: 2-2
Season Record: 19-12 (61%)
Went 2-1 in the three games I picked, but USC was a 2 unit play and won by 4 with a 4.5 spread. That’s tough. Right read wrong result. 2-2 week.
- Louisville -34.5 Duke
This game is FRIDAY NIGHT! Just need to point that out if you do your gambling Saturday morning. Anyways, love the Cardinals here. They got a bye week to recover from the game of the year vs. Clemson, so they will be fresh and ready to roll this week. On the other side, Duke comes in off a hard fought 13-6 win over Army in a mud bowl. This team is banged up and bruised and is now on their 7th straight week playing. So we have an explosive, rested Louisville team at home vs. a tired Duke team coming to Louisville on a short week? And I only need to win by 5 scores? I know, Duke came into South Bend at beat the Irish as 20 point dogs. But here’s the thing, ND has been exposed, and it wasn’t like Duke had much success stopping DeShone Kizer. Lamar Jackson is going to do some serious damage. Lets say Jackson throws 4 and runs in 2, and the Cardinals win 56-17.
- Notre Dame -3 Stanford
Speaking of Kizer and ND, I love them in this weeks “forgettable season bowl”. Both these teams’ seasons have totally fallen apart, and their banged up secondary’s are the reason why. So who is better equipped to take advantage, a future top 10 pick and the downfield Irish passing attack or Ryan Burns and Stanford, who will be featuring a banged up Christian McCaffery. Notre Dame stops its free fall in this primetime spot, beating the Cardinal 31-20.
- Alabama @ Tennessee OVER 57.5 *2 UNITS*
Favorite play of the week. Tennessee comes into this game tired and completely beat up. Their defense is a shell of itself. They have played 3 straight barn burners, 2 of which were on the road. Alabama rolls into town with a devastating running attack led by Damien Harris and Jalen Hurts. The Tide are scoring 35. So can UT put up 23 vs. this Crimson Tide defense? Hell yes. Arkansas and Ole Miss both did it, and Tennessee’s offense is just as explosive as those. Jalen Hurd is back, and Alvin Kamara and Josh Dobbs have looked awesome recently. I envision the Vols playing up-tempo and throwing the ball a lot since they will be trailing most the game, and Josh Malone scoring twice. Let’s call it 45-31 Alabama. Easiest over of the week.
- Wisconsin vs. Ohio State UNDER 44
The Badgers offense is bad. The Defense, however, is not. Michigan can clearly run the ball all over just about anyone, and the Badgers totally shut them down. J.T Barrett is awesome, but at then end of the day OSU’s offense wants to run before it throws. I just can’t see the Buckeyes coming into Camp Randall on a Saturday night and putting up more than 28. The Badgers aren’t scoring 16 vs. this OSU defense, no shot. So we get an easy under.
