Week 8 College Football Picks

Last Week: 2-3

Season Record: 21-15

Louisville was a total miss, Notre Dame is so damn bad, and that Under was right there till the very end. Tough week but those weren’t very good picks. My bad.

This week is going to be fun

  • Cal vs. Oregon OVER 87.5

Oregon’s defense is just so awful. Not that Cal’s is much better, but seriously, this Oregon defense is just horrible. Davis Webb and the Bears are going to make up for that brutal loss to Oregon State and come out firing on Friday night, so let’s pencil them in for 50. You might think that’s a lot, but Oregon just gave up a 70 spot to Washington at home, no question Cal can put up 50. So then the Ducks just need to score 38 on the worst rush defense in the country. Royce Freeman might run for 300 yards. I know 87.5 is tough to swallow, but this game is going over. Cal scored 50 vs. Texas at home earlier this year, and Oregon’s defense is even worse. On the other side, they gave up 51 to ASU, 47 to Oregon STATE, 45 to SDSU and 43 to Texas, all of whom ran the ball down their throat. Settle in for a fun one Friday night. Also, I like Cal -3, but not as much as the over.

  • Stanford -2 Colorado

Christian McCaffery returns to face his hometown team, at home, after a nice road win over Notre Dame, and its only -2. Colorado is seriously improved, but this is still Stanford here. They don’t have the bodies to match up the Cardinal, and we get a 27-17 Stanford win.

  • Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech OVER 84

We are all in on overs this week. Baker Mayfield comes back to TTU to face the worst defense in college football. Let that sink in. I am conservatively going to figure 56 points for the Sooners, I think 63-70 is more likely. So Texas Tech needs like 28 points in this one at most. Patrick Mahomes wakes up in the morning with 29 points. It’s not like the Sooners defense is LSU or anything, and anyways Mahomes had his way with LSU just last year. Texas Tech is going to give us 30 or more, and there is no way Baker doesn’t come out looking for blood and put up 50+. Just a reminder, Texas Tech’s game totals this year include 123 (ASU), 104 (Louisiana Tech) and 82 (Kansas State). None of those offenses hold a candle to the Sooners. Mayfield, Mixon and Westbrook all damn night.

  • Oklahoma -13.5 @ Texas Tech

See previous pick. Baker is winning this game by 14+, because he isn’t getting stopped once.

UPDATE: Samaje Perine is out, I didn’t realize that when I picked those picks. But guess what? Don’t care. Do not care. Texas Tech’s defense still has a 0% chance of holding Baker under 50. He is out for blood. I am keeping both these picks.

Reminder, Joe Mixon In High School. We are fine

  • LSU-Ole Miss UNDER 60.5

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. 60.5 for an LSU Game!! I don’t care that Coach O has made LSU Great Again, no 2016 LSU football game should have an O/U over 50. Their QB situation is still garbage. You think Ole Miss isn’t putting 8 in the box every play? Please. LSU wins this 23-20 and we never even worry about it getting over 60. 60! What a joke. I think we are like 4-0 this year on LSU unders so the trend continues.

Trap Line of the Week: Auburn -9.5 vs. Arkansas. Every bone in my body wants to take those 9.5 points vs. Sean White. I spit out my drink when I first saw it. However, it’s a trap. Arkansas is coming off hard fought games vs. Alabama and Ole Miss in back to back weeks and hasn’t had a bye yet. Auburn is coming off their bye. Can’t you just see it being a good game for 3 quarters and then a dead Arkansas team finally tires out and Auburn scores a late TD for the 13 point win or something? Its such a trap line. Stay away. 9.5 is a trash number too. Stay away boys and girls.
