2016 Wasn’t That Bad

This is definitely an unpopular opinion, but I really don’t think 2016 was that awful. Sure, I might be a little biased because I personally had a pretty decent year with graduating college and starting this beauty of a blog (humble brag). But let’s take a look at what happened this year that helps me believe 2016 wasn’t the “worst year ever”. Villanova who won today at #10 Creighton completed the greatest calendar year in the history of college basketball. The year was obviously highlighted by their National Championship win over North Carolina where Kris Jenkins hit one of...

The Orange Bowl Is The Game We All Deserved

What a fucking game. Late scores, multiple comebacks. Each team thinking they had clinched the win. Unreal. Michigan blocking the PAT was such a dagger to the Wolverine faithful thinking they had any sort of chance to get in field goal range to win it. No way. This offense is bad and Speight has shown time and time again that he can’t make plays in the clutch. #NoClutchGene. Hats off to both teams because this really was a great game. Florida State had multiple chances to run away with it and Michigan (specifically their defense) came up time and...

My Somewhat Too Early Royal Rumble Predictions

The greatest event in sports entertainment is less than a month away as the entire WWE universe breaks out in a YES! YES! YES! For those who do not follow, the Royal rumble is a 30 man free for all in the ring starting with 2 and adding a wrestler every 2 minutes. A wrestler is eliminated if they are thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the ground.  The prize? A guaranteed title match at Wrestlemania. The following are my thoughts in comparison to the favorites. The Undertaker 3/1 odds The Undertaker is a staple of Wrestlemania...

When People Get Up In The Morning, What Do They Think?

I feel like this is a very common question posed by people daily, “what is that person thinking?” If you are a resident of any of the larger cities in the country (or World since LMBF has been read in over 70 countries) you definitely ask yourself this daily. Today I as I was boarding my flight from Newark to Chicago, I spotted a woman sitting in first class wearing a hat and matching shirt that said, “Gypsy Woman” with the number 69 below it. What is this chick thinking? Do people really wake up in the morning and...

Patrick Kane Tallies 700th Career Point

Last night against the Predators, Kaner had a helper on the Toews redirect and buried one past Pekka Rinne in a 3-2 victory on the road to tally career points 699 and 700. In the last year or so, Kane has been hitting milestone after milestone and setting record after record. Point number 700 came in probably the most “Patrick Kane” way possible: 88 carries the puck in on an odd man rush and gets into an absolute stare down with Rinne and buries the GWG. https://www.letmebfrankblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/kan-700.mp4   I feel like I’ve seen this too many times before. Plays like...

Who had the Worst 2016 in the NBA?

Frick 2016, am I right??? Heard that’s the joke going around. Anyways, the NBA as a whole had a pretty incredible 2016, from the incredible Finals to the Jordan Belfort-like spending habits in free agency this summer. Not everyone did, though! The people on this list are going to be glad to see 2016 gone. Kevin Durant The Thunder were blowing 3-1 leads before it was cool, people forget that. Durant’s Thunder had a total collapse against the Warriors in the WCF, which was the first domino that lead to KD’s departure for those same Warriors that just embarrassed him. He...

Butler Men’s Basketball Faces a Scare After Dramatic Loss at St. John’s

About a half hour into Butler’s flight back to Indianapolis Thursday night all of the lights went out in their plane as it descended rapidly – falling from 35,000 to 10,000 feet in just over 10 minutes. Butler’s coach Chris Holtmann told ESPN that “It started to get really cold, and the plane went completely dark, then all the oxygen masks came flying down, and the flight attendant told everyone to put the masks on. She kept repeating it”. Players and coaches alike scrambled to text their loved ones fearing that the worst might come of the situation. Fortunately, the...

Hawks and Preds: Passing Clinic and Crow’s Heads Up Plays

The Chicago Blackhawks took on the Nashville Predators tonight and it was not a disappointing game. Crawford is back in net again and was making phenomenal saves that normally would’ve eaten him up. However, Crawford came up strong allowing only two tough goals and walking away with a win. The Hawks defense had a few mix ups tonight, missing line changes and missing a few chances to clear the puck which could have cost the Hawks but luckily, didn’t. On the offensive side, Chicago put on a puck passing clinic, the whole team included but particularly Kane and Panarin....

The Group Of 5 Should Have Their Own Playoffs

Here’s the link talking about the newest rumor going around   Word on the street is that some folks in the lesser conferences are grumbling about not having a shot at the College Football Playoffs. Teams like Toledo, Boise State, or I don’t know, Western Michigan, could go undefeated and they won’t even sniff the top 15 rankings, let along an honest shot at the playoffs. The problem is that there are just too many teams for 4 playoff slots to adequately represent the best teams in the country. For God’s sake, there’s 5 POWER conferences. So if the mighty...
