NFL Divisional Round Picks2 min read
What a week of absolutely shitty games and gambling wins. Thankfully we will not be subjected to another Oswieler v Cook epic this week.
Last Week: 4-1
- Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons -5
I am still a full fledged member of the “Seattle is a fraud” club. My bad on the Matt Stafford pick last week — his injury is much worse than I had expected. But Matty Ice is so freaking good that I don’t know how you could pick against him. Home field advantage in the domes (Georgie and Super) make a difference, plus the Falcons defense is very underrated.
- Houston Texans at New England Patriots -16 and OVER 44.5
I’m doing it. I’m calling my shot here and saying the Pats win by at least 21. The Brocketship was average at best last week — now he has to go to Foxborough and play against arguably the greatest coach/quarterback duo in NFL (especially playoff) history. Oh, and the Patriots have a top notch defense this year too. The biggest issue is how good will the Texans defense play. I’m thinking Tom handles them easily.
- Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs -1
Really, really tough game to pick here. I think Big Ben in the playoffs is one of the toughest guys to beat and Andy Reid continuously disappoints this time of year. However, Arrowhead in January is terrifying, Tyreek Hill is arguably the most electric player in football right now AND Alex Smith is finally over the hump, proving he can win you games.
Green Bay Packers +4 at Dallas Cowboys
This will be the best game of the weekend. Aaron Rodgers is the best player on the planet right now despite having a makeshift (injured) receiving corp and essentially no run game. The defense is as average as ever, which is a slight upgrade for Green Bay. But the Pack will need them to step up big this week as they get the best offensive line in the NFL to go along with a pair of rookies who can really make plays. Match-up to watch in this game is Rodgers vs a shaky Cowboy secondary. It will be a field goal game one way or the other.
