Welcome back to #ThoughtTrainThursday. It has been a while since I shared my thoughts during the penultimate day of the work week. Let’s get to it.
‘Adult’ is not a verb
It is annoying enough when people my age use this awful phrase, as I tweeted about in July.
I’m patiently awaiting the day in which people discontinue the use of the word “adulting”.

When my alma mater titles a value-added networking event after it, I angrily blog.
I saw something, so I said something. I also hate substituting ‘v’ for very, the word ‘lit’, and people being ‘apart’ of something. You can be apart from something, and a part of another. Word of advice: adults do not say these things. As someone who recently wrapped up their first full month in the workforce, I would know.
Don’t like the weather?
It just snowed in Omaha yesterday and never climbed into temperatures above freezing today. Tomorrow’s forecasted temperature? Sixty (60) degrees. The adage “as real as climate change” is going to walk up to us and give us a kiss on the cheek tomorrow. While I am excited to wear shorts and a t-shirt the day after shoveling my driveway – which I have not done since a trip to Hawaii last year – I am still very much an Earth Guy. A big fan of the planet. These extreme fluctuations in weather patterns do not bode well. Just something to ponder…
Blair Walsh signs with the Seahawks
My life often resembles his infamous botched kick against the team he now plays for, so I have little room to poke fun. At least he has a sense of humor. Kickers are people, too.
