Mark Cuban wanted Tony Romo to suit up for the Mavs last night.

Recently released QB, Tony Romo, got an invite to suit up for the Mavericks Tuesday night and participate in shootaround.
It’s amazing how athletic a guy can look in a football uniform and so doughy in a basketball jersey, but Tony’s “retired” so he gets a pass.
Apparently Rick Carlisle saw some serious potential in Romo’s playing ability and tried to give him some minutes, but I guess Mark Cuban isn’t really about it.

SAD! But Adam Silver is really to blame here; he refused to honor Romo’s contract which forbade him from entering the game. It’s definitely a Roger Goodell No Fun League move, but it makes sense. Can’t be setting a precedent for having local celebrities hop in on insignificant games like that, as much as I would enjoy seeing Kanye or Obama get some minutes for the Bulls.
It’s probably for the better anyways, there was a better than 50% chance that Tony would’ve broken his collar bone trying to run through a screen from Nikola Jokic.
