Creighton received a verbal commit from class of 2018 4-star recruit Ian Steere via twitter this evening.
I’m coming to Omaha babyyyy‼️🐦 pic.twitter.com/UWLfweXCEf

Steere is a 6-9 power forward from North Carolina, ranked #76 in the nation via Scout. He had at least 23 offers, most notably from Louisville (who needs Brian Bowen?), Arkansas, Clemson, Connecticut, Florida State, and Kansas – among many others.
This is a HUGE get for the Bluejays, and yet another pice of encouraging news for Creighton fans in what has turned out to be an unusually activity-filled summer. Once Steere steps on the floor, wave goodbye to the days of the Jays getting out-rebounded by 15 in Big East games! With the departure of Justin Patton to the NBA, Ian Steere is primed to become Creighton’s next great interior player.
Take a look.
That’s a grown ass man. At 6-9, 240 pounds, he won’t have to grow into his body or thicken up like Patton had to – and is still doing. If Coach McDermott can keep pulling Big East-caliber recruits like this, the Jays may very well finally make it out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. These are exciting times in Omaha. Roll Jays.
