Just wanted to write a quick bit about Jaromir Jagr and why he hasn’t been signed yet for next NHL’s season. I really can’t figure out why no one has signed him yet. Yes, I understand he’s the oldest player in the NHL at 45 years old. However, the man’s stats have not faded that much. This past season, Jagr played in all 82 games and scored 46 points, that’s not bad at all. The season before that, Jagr had 66 points in 79 games. The man clearly is still extremely useful on the scoresheet. To me though, what’s even more useful is his experience. Jagr has been in the NHL since the 1990-91 season. That’s longer than I’ve been alive. I feel like two teams that should seriously look at signing Jagr would be the Golden Knights and the Canadiens. Vegas really doesn’t have much in terms of pure goal scorers. This would be a way to easily and cheaply sign a pure goal scorer who really shows no signs of slowing down. As for the Canadiens, they lost Alexander Radulov, who had 54 points this past season. Again, Jagr had 46 this past season, thats only an 8 point difference from Radulov and Jagr will be insanely cheap. It just seems silly to me, and sad (I use to try to emulate him, I even use to be #68 on all my teams) that he hasn’t been signed for the 2017-2018 season. Please some one do it!!
