Sammie Coates Traded To Cleveland Browns1 min read
With the last week before regular season football upon us, teams are trying to finalize their rosters, with some making moves on the trade wire, as we saw yesterday with Sheldon Richardson being dealt to the Seahawks for Jermaine Kearse and a second rounder. The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to join the fun earlier today by dealing wide receiver Sammie Coates to the Cleveland Browns for a future sixth round pick. Pittsburgh also recently made headlines by signing veteran corner Joe Haden after he was released by Cleveland earlier this week.
This move was probably finalized after news that wide receiver Martavis Bryant was completely reinstated by the league not soon before the trade was official. Cleveland gets a solid wideout to help new quarterback DeShone Kizer have a successful rookie season while only giving up a sixth round pick. Pittsburgh has plenty of offensive weapons to cover for Coates absence, and they get a sixth rounder to add to their future depth moving forward.
