Carson Wentz Out For The Year With Torn ACL1 min read
It appears that the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl (and my Fantasy Football) hopes are all but over after star quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL in the Eagles’ win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. Head Coach Doug Pederson confirmed that Wentz will miss the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs after a torn ACL was confirmed by an MRI taken Monday morning. Wentz was having a hell of a year, going 11-2 while throwing for 3,296 passing yards for 33 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions, racking up a 101.9 passer rating in an MVP-type season in only Wentz’s second year in the league.
I understand that this is a big blow for Philadelphia. They were riding super high, but anyone with a brain knew that something like this was bound to happen to Philly. Things could be a lot worse as Nick Foles is actually as solid of a backup quarterback as you can get, but the Eagles Super Bowl chances obviously took a big hit as arguably the best quarterback in the league this year will be out for the rest of the year. Right when I’m headed to the semi-finals in Fantasy no less! Damn shame, real damn shame.
I think something that is being extremely overlooked is the fact that Nate Sudfeld is #2 on the depth chart as of now. Imagine if Foles somehow goes down and NATE SUDFELD has to take the helm for the 2-loss Eagles. Philly would go up in flames. At least Philly has #TheProcess still intact:
Joel Embiid is out. He was a late scratch because of back tightness. Amir Johnson starts.
