Sanchez to Manchester United1 min read
I’ll be honest, this weekend didn’t have a single interesting or fun game. Not in England, not in Spain, not in France, nor Germany, nor Italy. That being said its January 21st which means the transfer window is coming to a close at the end of the month. As teams scramble to find the “missing piece” transfer rumor escalate. On a general note I think transfer rumors are like Mad Libs. You come up with a name, you come up with a team, make a few connections and write up an article. However, the rumor that isn’t going away is Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.
As if Manchester United hasn’t already snatched up enough talent, they have set their sights on Chilean star Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal. Alexis had 30 goals and 17 assists for Arsenal during the 2016/17 season. Pair that with the ability to open up gaps in the defense, any Premier League team would be lucky to have him.
This brings us to Man United. Manchester United have shown these past two years they will pay any amount to bring any player in. This year for the price of around $104,000,000 Manchester United bought striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton and for around $68,000,000 they brought in midfielder Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. Add those signing along with the likes of Paul Pogba from last summer at the price of $124,000,000 and two other signings both worth $41,000,000, you start to get a picture of the caliber of play Manchester United likes to sign. Whether this rumor come true or not remains a mystery. What is known, is if this true out to be true the rest of the league should run and hide.
