Bubble Games to Watch: February 22

Last night was lighter than usual and tonight is even lighter with just two games on the docket and honestly, I don’t think that either of the games contains a true bubble team. To recap last night, Minnesota fell at home to Michigan and UCF scored just 55 points in their loss at Cincinnati. On the West Coast, both St. Mary’s and San Francisco stayed alive as the Dons made a strong comeback in the 2nd half to beat BYU and St. Mary’s won easily at Pacific.

Indiana at 21 Iowa 8pm CT FS1

Archie’s team is one of the coldest in America. They continue to struggle and managed to score just 46 points in their home loss to Purdue earlier this week. It was a very winnable game that saw Carsen Edwards throw up brick after brick. Now, the road to an at-large bid might be too steep for IU. The Hoosiers will have to win out and do so in convincing fashion. It starts with Iowa, who has been a strong team offensively this year, so it will be strength on strength for these teams. Indiana needs to find some offense or it will be a long night in Iowa City.

Davidson at Rhode Island 8pn CT ESPN 2

The Wildcats lost a game they should have won to Dayton at home and now also find themselves in a deep hole. This Rhode Island game can only hurt their resume but it is a big one for confidence as well. Davidson has dropped 2 of their last 4 games after starting off 8-1 in conference play. They have given up the top of the league to VCU and desperately need wins down the stretch.

People forget: Gordon Bombay only coached the Ducks because it was a court order.
