Baltimore Ravens Select Oklahoma WR Marquise Brown #25 Overall
At number 25, the first wide receiver comes off the board in the 2019 NFL Draft, with Marquise Brown going to Baltimore.
While this fall may have been partially due to a foot injury and uncertainties with his health, “Hollywood” Brown is a very high ceiling option for Baltimore. The Ravens need to do everything they can to build around Lamar Jackson at QB, and giving him a burner like Brown on the outside is a high ceiling pick. At 5’9″, 170ish lbs, and with 4.32 speed, Brown certainly has the potential to be a dynamic duo for big plays with Jackson.
If his production with Kyler Murray was any indication, this pick certainly could end up being electric. Hell, being the top option for a Heisman winner who burst onto the scene with minimal previous snaps says something about a receiver. And, if giving Jackson a better option downfield can cut down on the amount of designed QB runs, that’s a bonus.
Baltimore already has a strong defense, that was evident last season. If they can develop a powerhouse offense led by Jackson and Marquise Brown? This team could be a force in the AFC North with an aging/depleted Steelers, an unproven Browns squad, and a very meh to bad Bengals team.
